Meet The Artist
Hi! I'm Ella Que
Welcome, it’s lovely to have you here.
I’m an artist drawn to creating symbolic paintings that feel like visual altars, spaces for quiet reflection and gentle spiritual connection. My practice is deeply inspired by the quiet strength of women, the sacred woven into daily life, often within the landscape and the quite moments spent exploring the world around me. My artistic practice explores the divine feminine power, blurring the lines between humans and nature.
Nestled by the wide, unspoiled beaches of Byron Bay, my sunlit studio is sanctuary for me, offering space to create, experiment and daydream. That little space is my haven, where my family and our two rescue dogs fill my days with plenty of colour and chaos. Most days, I work with watercolour and gouache or oils, painting botanical florals, goddesses and quiet portraits that celebrate intuition and the gentle kind of power I see in women and nature. I love capturing what’s alive in a single moment, finding grounding and presence both for myself and for those who see my work.

Always creative, my love of painting grew while studying Fine Arts at the University of Sydney and Sydney College of the Arts. I have worked across a range of genres, from visual arts, textile and architectural design to floral art. Painting has taken me from group exhibitions, to awards and teaching. I love sharing the joy of art through classes and workshops. My philosophy is about finding calm, joy and new skills while encouraging your own creative voice to shine in a supportive, nurturing space.
Much of what I create is grounded in my own spiritual journey, drawing together the divine feminine, subtle beauty of nature and stories that illuminate the human spirit.
For the past year I have created small figurative gouache paintings, exploring significant times of reflection and as celebration of female power and memory.
Beyond the studio, I love wandering wild places, sketching outdoors and letting the landscape guide my creative heart. Here, I can listen deeply for a greater awareness and understanding of the shifts associated with climate change.
Have a question, a collaboration idea or simply want to connect? Like all good art, it starts with a conversation.
